“I HAVE A DREAM”, TOO!

A Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

According to Wikipedia, on August 28, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech in which he called for an end to Racism in the United States. And while I do not dispute this fact, and agree that this was the Overt reason for his speech, this writer also believes there is another, perhaps even more profound message, captured in the words he so eloquently spoke on that sweltering August day, when no one seemed to feel how hot it was when he began to speak.

Dr. Martin Luther King said: “I Have a Dream.” And, he went on to speak about that dream in vivid detail. Various elements of that historic speech have been captured in news clips, movies, documentaries, and today on YouTube. It is this author’s intent to highlight specific portions of his infinitely inspired message to make a specific point regarding the words, sentences, and paragraphs that have come to be known as the “I Have a Dream” speech.

“I Have a Dream.” And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American Dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. I have a dream today! I have a dream that one day that little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and little white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today! I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted…and the crooked places shall be made straight; “and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.” This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together…, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

And this will be the day when all of God’s children will be able to sing with new meaning: My country ‘tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my father died, land of the Pilgrim’s pride, From every mountainside, let freedom ring! And if America is to be a great nation, this must come true. And so let freedom ring… From every mountainside, let freedom ring. And when this happens, when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing: Free at Last! Free at Last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was deeply committed to Freedom. Not just the freedom of his people, but the freedom of all people. And although the freedom he spoke of was rallied around the cause he laid his very life down for, this writer believes his message was much broader and deeper than his Overt message that everyone else has always focused on. This writer believes, if you evaluate the words he used and the context in which he delivered them, there is a much deeper, much more profound message in the words that God entrusted to him. It is this writer’s intent to present the possibility of that larger, deeper, more profound message in an attempt to fully honor his work and all of the possibilities that were revealed to him….

“I Have a Dream”, Too! My tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reads as follows: I Have a Dream. I Have a Dream that all people will get out of their heads and into their hearts, for this is where Love lies. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote his speech for a reason. I write now here for a reason. I believe it was and is the same reason! He wrote his speech for a cause and a calling. I wrote this message to honor the spirit of that cause and the spirit of that calling. I wrote my message to demonstrate that one man with a pen and a message from God, placed in his heart, with the trust that it would be delivered, would do that which he promised. I now deliver that message and that promise in honor of the message that was given to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to deliver to the people, so they would have the rights that had previously been delivered and written into the constitution as delivered by (God) to them, who then wrote those words down at the very peril of their own lives and created this Great Nation through that very Declaration of Independence. And now, on this day, the day we all honor the words and vision of a Great Man, I give to you again some new words to consider…

We have within us everything that we could ever possibly need to achieve more than we ever thought possible. It is the same thing that took Man to the moon and back and the same thing that lead to the building of our great cities, roads, bridges, dams, and buildings. It is the same thing that leads the great Democracy that runs this United States of America. And now on this day, let us reflect on where we have come from, and what is yet still possible. For, I Have a Dream, Too! And that dream will take this Great Nation into the next Millennium, but only if we honor the ideals and dreams of our forefathers and the other Leaders of this Great Nation, and Others. For you see, as Gandhi said: “You, are the change you have been looking for.” And I say “We, are the change we have been looking for.” It is our responsibility, each and every one of us, to reclaim our God given rights and power to do, be, and become all we are capable of. Not on our own, but by reflecting on the words of both Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy, and all who came before them, and all who shall come after them. And most importantly now, in this moment of time, on this day, to Declare our Independence, to honor God’s promise, to heed his teachings, and finally come together for the betterment of our Great Country and our Planet.

I Have a Dream that every American, regardless of his or her color, or where he or she came from, or what socioeconomic status they now have and live from, will realize that the message delivered by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was really about “Possibilities.” Possibilities and what’s possible here in America if we will but come together to help one another accomplish what none of us could achieve alone.

The “Philosophy” of the message Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. attempted to deliver to the great people of this great nation has been watered down over the years, but now it is time to revisit those words that were entrusted to Dr. King to share with the people of this Great Nation so they would finally come to the realization that each and every one of us has the capability and responsibility to develop every element of our capacity, to help our fellow man, and to teach those who would strive to learn, and to show those who cannot yet see, that all that is required was delivered to you the very day God breathed life into you when you were born. And now, all you must do is open your mind and allow God as you understand him or her, to work through you, and you will find yourself having completed and accomplished that which you previously thought impossible. Oh yes, I Have a Dream that the spirit that lives inside you will take action and learn from those who teach and share and strive to deliver their (God’s) message that anything is possible and the only thing to fear, is fear itself.

The Teachers are amongst us and they have all found ways to connect with the Infinite Intelligence of this world and are ready to help you become actively involved in the process of fulfilling both God’s and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Dream to make this the greatest nation, United with the knowledge that if you will but simply “Follow Your Dreams,” the dreams God placed in your heart, these dreams will be woven together to create a great tapestry of Possibilities, and this nation shall once again rise to Great Heights, and be the Beacon of Hope for all of the rest of the world to “See.” And, be the model for all that can be accomplished for every other human being on this planet regardless of Race, Religion, Color, or Creed. Together, with simply the faith of a Mustard Seed, the patience of Job, and the Tenacity of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., you Too, can have anything you want, if you will but simply help enough others to get what they want. If you will change, everything will change for you. If you will but believe, you can achieve that which you desire. All words spoken from Great Teachers of our recent history, the Great Zig Ziglar, the “Business Philosopher,” Mr. Jim Rohn, and of course, Mr. Henry Ford, the “Father of the Assembly Line” and creator of the Model T.

These great teachers, just like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., often spoke of the power of Gratitude. You see, it all begins with Gratitude. Being grateful for what you have while still striving for more, to become more, to do more, to have more, to give more, to share more, all with a grateful heart. If you will take my challenge and express your Gratitude to another human being by offering an encouraging word, or writing a letter of thanks or Gratitude, you will find yourself achieving and accomplishing things you never thought possible. If you will make your dreams bigger than yourself and your own personal needs and desires, you will be given more than you can ever use in a lifetime. This world, the world we live in, is a place of abundance. It was never God’s intention for human beings to live safe and small. It was always his intention for us to have lives of abundance and prosperity. He created the Great United States of America, the land of the free, and the home of the brave, as a Great experiment to demonstrate to the rest of the Universe the power of “Possibilities.” God has delivered a multitude of great men and women onto the shores of this Great Nation, for the sole purpose of delivering their divinely inspired messages, only to find those messages falling on the deaf ears of a people who have forgotten how to Believe.

No more! For this day, a message was delivered into my heart, and I have promised to deliver it exactly as it was revealed to me as we celebrate the memory of one of the Greatest Champions of God’s message in this “Modern” era. So today, God has Inspired, Empowered, and Entrusted me to deliver his message and I therefore implore you to heed his calling and rise up breaking your chains of bondage called “Mediocrity” and “Complacency” and “Apathy” to claim your rightful place and Declare your Victory over these things and commit now, in this moment to become All you are capable of. Reach out to the shelves of your local library, or the bookstore, or the internet, or YouTube and find the answers you already know are waiting there for you. Search out the missing piece of the puzzle required to bring your Dream to life. Find the last digit of the combination lock that is keeping you from claiming that which is rightfully already yours. Engage in the process of once again reshaping the fabric of this Great Country and help restore it to its highest Possibility.

Set your Political views aside. Set your limiting beliefs aside. Set your misconceptions aside. Set your fears aside, and once and for all, Believe that all things are possible through your belief and your faith in something so much bigger than us! If you will but search, an answer will be revealed to you. If you will but knock loud enough and long enough, all doors will be opened for you. If you will but do the work of becoming a trusted servant of the message of Hope and Prosperity, then guaranteed is the delivery of every solution you seek to every challenge you face, in the fulfillment of Your Dream.

Proof you say, proof you want, the Proof is everywhere. It is all around you, everything, I mean everything, began first simply as a thought in your mind or the mind of another. From the device you are now reading this message on, to the Empire State Building, to the entire skyline of every great city across this nation and across the world. Anything you can possibly think of, every great advance or scientific discovery, every marketing message that moves across the screen of the device you see it on. Each of these things first began as a thought. And so, if thoughts are things, and if words are things, and if words have the ability to encourage and inspire, and if all these things come from an Infinite source, then there can be no shortage, there can be no lack, there can be no problem to big, challenge to high, or Dream Too Big! And therefore, I submit, that the words that were delivered to us some 54 years ago this August by a Man who was so committed to his cause and his belief in this nation, that he would gladly pay the ultimate price, if that is what it took to move this great nation forward so the promise could be delivered, those divine words were given to a man with vision. The vision of what we all now know is not only possible, but possible for each and every human being who will have the faith to follow their dreams.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., armed only with a Divine Dream and the faith to believe it was possible, sparked the change required to begin the process of Healing and Possibilities that was the era of the Sixties. We lost several great leaders of the times to the FEAR of those who either simply wouldn’t, or couldn’t understand that what was being created would not be perfect, but it would be created in the image of perfection.

Belief comes in the form of a Dream; A Dream of what’s Possible, but not only what’s possible, but what’s possible if you will simply commit to that Dream. You don’t have to understand how. You only have to commit. If you will commit, the answer will be revealed to you. Commit, then figure it out! This powerful philosophy will provide a method for you to achieve. But not only to achieve, but to achieve your Dream!

“I Have a Dream”, Too! That every American, or even anyone living in or influenced by all that is Possible only in America, that they will believe in my belief in them and rise up like a great tidal wave of Achievers and Believers and create a movement that demonstrates that anything is possible. And that movement shall begin on this day, the 16th day of January, 2017, and that this movement will begin with a simple act of Gratitude. That as you read this letter, you will become so inspired to make a real difference, you will act, and that action will come in the form of an expression of Gratitude for those who came before us and all that they have done to establish the foundation for us to move forward and finally realize our True Potential. You will take to the airwaves, the television, social media, YouTube, and yes, even the written word. And perhaps you will write a letter of Gratitude to someone who made a profound difference in your life whether they knew it or not and simply say thank you, for the inspiration, encouragement, or guidance they gave you. And, that this action will be so empowering, that we start an entire movement of Gratitude that begins here in America and travels around the world, so we can begin the process of Healing not only our planet, but ourselves. And through this Divine Healing, we finally come together as a Planet and not just a country, and together create such Abundance, that scarcity becomes a thing of the past, that corporations are more focused on helping people and making a real difference in the world than they are in making a profit because they finally realize in an Economy of Total Abundance there really is no true competition.

And in this country, the Great United States of America, all the great messengers would come together in a collaborative cause to move all those interested in moving forward, forward with a message of Hope and Gratitude and Possibility. Understanding that in the process, they would through their combined efforts, create an economy so powerful, that there would be no shortage of customers and no real need for competition, understanding that each of them has a unique message and capability that will resonate with their potential customers because of where they are on their journey of becoming their highest Potential self. And, that as they grow both professionally and spiritually, they will naturally seek more guidance on the road to self-actualization and Achievement. And, that along the way, some of these individuals will become both enlightened and inspired and themselves want to do more, become more, and contribute more. And this movement of socially responsible Heart-Centered Entrepreneurs and Intrapreneurs will change the very fabric of both this nation and the world.

These Change Makers, and Dream Builders, and Superstar Speakers, these Millionaire Messengers, Rollercoaster Writers, Quantum Leapers, Darren Dailyers, and Maxwellians, they will have the courage to Inspire and Dream. The ZEN marketers and YEN marketers, the Unsinkables, and the Unstoppables, the Rhyming Book Reviewers, the Academy Experts and the Knowledge Instituters, the HayHousers, and the FearLess Self Publishers, and yes, the God Conversationalists too, they will all come together with the Evolving Wisdomers, and those who have none. The Millennials will help the Baby Boomers and all of the Knowledge Seekers will come together, and TOGETHER, they will Accomplish what none of them could achieve alone and they will pay homage to all who came before them and build a framework for all those they will teach and Inspire and Together we will change the world.

We will learn from the creators of video. We will learn from our youth. We will learn from the creators of audio, our podcasters. We will honor the Ground Breakers, the Wisdom Seekers, and the Inspirers. We will recognize and acknowledge the brilliance of each and every Change Maker, Entrepreneur, Idea Generator, Inspirational Speaker, Teacher, Reader, Wave Maker, and Status Quo Shaker, Minister, Rabbi, Priest, Prophet, Imam, Bishop, Reverend, Guru, Yogi, Poet, Artist, Musician, Peacemaker and Vision Creator, Anyone and Everyone Everywhere who has made it their mission to make a difference for Humanity, and then we will come back full-circle and once again Acknowledge the work of a man who said: “I Have a Dream.”

Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for his groundbreaking work and the gift he gave to us all with a speech of Promise and Possibilities given so eloquently so many years ago!
