An egg, placed in a boiling pot of water, is not predestined to a specific outcome. As a matter of fact, the egg can become one of many different things…

Once boiled, the egg can be removed at a specific point in time to be enjoyed as a soft-boiled egg. It can be enjoyed plain or accompanied with a variety of spices. Salt and pepper are only two of many choices. Don’t forget the paprika!

The soft-boiled egg can be enjoyed alone or with company. We can pair it with an English muffin, a slice of our favorite bread, or over a bed of hash browns.

Leave the egg a little longer in the water and it transforms. What was once soft becomes hard. The egg was forced to adapt to the pressure and the temperature of exposure.

After the transformation, the egg is still an egg, it’s just in a different form.

The egg doesn’t get to choose what it becomes, we get to do that, we get to decide what the egg will be, how it will benefit us or others, how it…
